Scotsman Walking Over The Bridge On History Visit To Sligachan Isle Of Skye Hebrides Scotland

Tour Scotland very short 4K travel video clip, a Scotsman wearing a kilt and walking on the bridge over Sligachan River on ancestry, genealogy, history visit and trip to the Isle of Skye, Inner Hebrides, Britain, United Kingdom. The Sligachan Old Bridge which spans the River Sligachan was built between 1810 and 1818 by engineer Thomas Telford. Tradition has it that the Lord of the Isles attacked Skye in 1395, but William MacLeod met the MacDonalds at Sligachan and drove them back to Loch Eynort or Ainort. There they found that their galleys had been moved offshore by the MacAskills and every invader was killed. The spoils were divided at Creag an Fheannaidh also known as Rock of the Flaying, or Creggan ni feavigh also known as Rock of the Spoil, sometimes identified with the Bloody Stone in Harta Corrie. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. @tourscotland #scotland #shortsvideo #kilt #skye All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
