John Laing senior was born in 1740 Carnbee and married Margaret Greig who was born in 1746 in St.Andrews. They had 5 children; Ann born in 1775, John born in 1778, David born 1780, James born 1784 and Thomas born 1788. John Laing, the son, married Ann Black and they had 10 children; Ann, Barbara, Margaret, John, Isabel, Thomas, David, James, Alexander and William. Their son John Laing married Margaret Ramsay and had 5 children; Andrew, William, Thomas, Margaret and Alexander. Their son Andrew Laing married Margaret Gay and had 2 children; John and William. Their son John Laing married Jane Birrell and had 3 children. Thomas Galloway was born in 1778 in Carnbee, to Thomas Galloway and Christiana Christie. Thomas died on 28 Feb 1839 in St Monance,, where he had been a labouring servant. He was buried in Pittenweem. David Reat married Anne Chrighton on 21 November 1795 in Carnbee, and had 3 children; David christened on 25 October 1796, Ann christened on 9 September 1800 and .Jmes who was christened on 22 May 1798 in Carnbee.
