Summer Road Trip Drive With Music On History Visit To Graveyard Laganallachie Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K Summer afternoon travel video, with Scottish music, of a cloudy road trip drive East on the old and very narrow Military road on ancestry visit to walk around the graveyard in Laganallachie, Highland Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. The now ruined parish church of Laggan Allochie or Inismogranachan, a prebend of Dunkeld was was dedicated to St Kellach or St Aulachy. The parish was combined with Little Dunkeld in the early 17th century. The old church was still in use in 1843, but was rebuilt in 1851. The 19th century church was used as a mission chapel in 1923 but only remains survive in the churchyard, which is a walled enclosure containing some 18th century gravestones. Although the church itself is now un-named, there is a house adjacent to it bearing the name Lagganallichie. One of the gravestones is dedicated to George Black who died on the 26th December 1764. Located in Strath Braan four miles South West of Dunkeld and and six miles from Amulree. A network of military roads, sometimes called General Wade's Military Roads, was constructed in the Scottish Highlands during the middle part of the 18th century as part of an attempt by the British Government to bring order to a part of the country which had risen up in the Jacobite rebellion of 1715. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
