Tour Scotland 4K Summer travel video, with Scottish accordion music, of a road trip drive North on the B981 route, on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Crossgates in West Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. Croosgates is located close to the junction of the M90 and A92, about two miles east of Dunfermline and a similar distance south west of Cowdenbeath. The village name means crossroads: it is situated at the point where the main Dunfermline-Kirkcaldy road crosses the old Great North Road from Inverkeithing to Perth, Perthshire. Crossgates has a long history of mining, both deep and opencast. In the days of cattle droving the blacksmiths of Crossgates made shoes for cattle and in the 18th Century coal from the surrounding area was first transported by wagonway to St David's Harbour on Inverkeithing Bay. August is the last full month of Summer in Scotland and a prime time to explore Scotland's natural attractions with long daylight hours, upwards of 13 to 15 hours per day. This is one of the warmest months of the year, along with July, and you should expect some rain, though just how much depends on where you travel. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. When driving on Scottish roads in Scotland slow down and enjoy the trip. The date for astronomical Summer in Scotland is Tuesday, 21 June, ending on Friday, 23 September. @tourscotland
