Tour Scotland short 4K Summer travel video clip, with Scottish bagpipes music of The Lairig Ghru, Scottish Gaelic: Làirig Dhrù, one of the mountain passes on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to the Cairngorms Mountains, Britain, United Kingdom. Historically the Lairig Ghru has been used simply as a route between Deeside and Strathspey as a Drove Road and a route used by many different people, including cattle thieves, for many different purposes. The Lairig Ghru was used as a droving route as late as 1873 moving highland cattle to Braemar and farther south. Until the 1870s Scotsmen from Rothiemurchus annually, in the Spring, cleared the track of rocks that had fallen on to it during the Winter. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. The date for astronomical Summer in Scotland is Tuesday, 21 June, ending on Friday, 23 September. @tourscotland
