Tour Scotland 4K short Winter night travel video clip, with Scottish music, of an outdoor Christmas lights Unicorn by the City Hall on Christmas Day, Monday, December 25th, 2023, on King Edward Street on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Perth, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. The unicorn really is the official national animal of Scotland. And our love for this famous mythological creature dates back many centuries. Unicorns have featured in many cultures going as far back as the classical age, including the ancient Babylonians and the Indus civilization. With its white horse-like body and single spiralling horn, the unicorn is a symbol of purity, innocence and power in Celtic mythology. Legend also tells that their horns can purify poisoned water, such is the strength of their healing power. Christmas lights, also known informally as fairy lights, are lights used for decoration in preparation for Christmas and for display throughout Christmastide. The custom goes back to the use of candles to decorate the Xmas or Christmas tree in Christian homes in early modern Germany. The first known electrically illuminated Christmas tree was the creation of Edward H. Johnson, an associate of inventor Thomas Edison, on December 22, 1882 at his home on Fifth Avenue in New York City, USA. Perth City Hall hosted concerts from a number of high profile performers throughout its history, including The Who in 1965 and The Spencer Davis Group in 1966 through to Morrissey as late as September 2004. In January 2019 Construction began work on a programme of works to convert the city hall into a new heritage and arts attraction which will incorporate displays on the Stone of Destiny and the Kingdom of Alba. By the meteorological calendar, the first day of Winter is always 1st December in Scotland; ending on 28th of February. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome
