Tour Scotland 4K Autumn night travel video of the sight and sounds of the River Tay in spate on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit and trip to Perth, Perthshire, Britain, United Kingdom. A spate river is a largely rain fed, fast flowing river. These types of rivers are both fast rising and fast falling. The River Tay, Scottish Gaelic: Tatha, is the longest river in Scotland and the seventh longest in the United Kingdom. The Tay originates in western Scotland on the slopes of Ben Lui mountain, Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Laoigh, then flows easterly across the Highlands, through Loch Dochart, Loch Iubhair and Loch Tay, then continues east through Strathtay, in the centre of Scotland, then south easterly through Perth, where it becomes tidal, to its mouth at the Firth of Tay, south of Dundee in Tayside. Scotland is blessed with many beautiful rivers, some small, others much longer and passing through varied scenery. They include; the River Tay, River Morar, River Dee, River Spey, River Affric, River Coe to name just a few. There's no escaping the fact that Scotland has a lot of water. The rain that the nation is famous for is not always a bad thing, as it used for whisky, it means there are never droughts, Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome. According to the meteorological calendar, the first day of Autumn or Fall always falls on September 1. If you follow the astrological calendar, however, Autumn or Fall begins on Saturday, September 23
