Winter Harbour On History Visit To St Andrews North East Fife Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K Winter travel video of the harbour on ancestry, genealogy visit to St Andrews on the coast of North East Fife, Britain, United Kingdom. St Andrews harbour is home to a fleet of around a dozen small fishing vessels, landing high quality shellfish from around the nearby shores, which are sold locally, nationally and exported to Europe. St Andrews harbour is an estuary haven formed in the tidal mouth of the Kinness Burn. A fishing harbour is mentioned as early as 1222, and another medieval record dates from 1363. The long pier was rebuilt in 1656 with stone largely taken from the Castle. The Fife Coastal Walking Path goes through St Andrews and runs from the Forth Estuary in the south, to the Tay Estuary in the north and stretches for 117 miles. By the meteorological calendar, the first day of Winter is always 1st December in Scotland; ending on 28th of February. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
