Tour Scotland 4K travel video, with Scottish bagpipes music, of a train journey to Achnasheen, Gaelic Achadh na Sìne, on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to the Highlands, Britain, United Kingdom. The village railway station was built in 1870, and was an important stop on the Kyle of Lochalsh Railway Line, serving a large area of Wester Ross. Between 1961 and 1991, the village was the location of a Royal Observer Corps monitoring bunker, to be used in the event of a nuclear attack. Achnasheen's name comes from the Gaelic for field of the storms. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
