Autumn Old Bridge of Millhaugh Over River Almond On History Visit To Highland Perthshire Scotland

This Scottish bridge which is no longer in uses was built around 1786 with a single segmental arch of 60 foot span. It has an unusually high single segmental, almost semicircular.arch, with oculi in the spandrels. The old roadway is steeply humped. The arch ring is of dressed stone, and the spandrels are rubble. The river starts its journey on the moors and mountains to the south of Loch Tay. them flows eastwards through Glenalmond. It runs through the village of Almondbank, before joining the Tay immediately north of Perth. The river's course is around 30 miles long.
