There is documentary evidence of the existence of a parish church in Struan as far back as the thirteenth century. The present church was built in 1828. The church is the most sacred place in Clan Donnachaidh, Clan Robertson, country and has a history as a religious site going back to the earliest times that mankind occupied the area. Long before the first Christian missionary ventured into Atholl, it was a place of Druidic worship as witnessed by the old Druid Stone still standing in the old churchyard.
