Cross Slab Pictish Stone With Music By The Roadside On History Visit To Aberlemno Angus Scotland

Tour Scotland 4K Summer travel video of a Cross Slab Pictish Symbol Standing Stone, with Scottish music, by the roadside of the the B9134 road on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Aberlemno, Angus, Britain, United Kingdom. A Class-I Pictish standing stone, remarkably different to the later cross slabs. It is carved on one side with fantastic symbols of a serpent over a double disc and z-rod, and below that, a mirror and comb. On one side of the stone are cup marks. Some archaeologists have suggested that the stone was originally a Neolithic or Bronze Age standing stone re-used by the Picts. Whatever the case, the Pictish carvings are quite marvellous. This stone was also found in the field immediately beyond the stone wall by the side of the road. You will have to cross the B9134 road to see the stones, so please watch for traffic. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
