Tour Scotland 4K travel video of a road trip drive, with Scottish accordion music, from Upper Largo, North East on the A915 road through Largoward on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to the West Port in St Andrews, Fife. The West Port of St Andrews was built in 1587 as a monumental entrance to the city’s South Street. It was less a defensive structure than it was a symbol of civic pride. Its design is based on that of the Netherbow in Edinburgh, which, in turn, was modelled on Paris’s Porte Saint-Honore. The gate was extensively refurbished in 1843. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day. When driving in Scotland slow down and enjoy the trip. Find things to see and do in Scotland where you are always welcome.
