Spring Snowdrops On Visit To Cambo Estate Kingbarns East Neuk Of Fife Scotland

Tour Scotland short Spring 4K travel video clip of Snowdrops on visit to Cambo Estate close to the village of Kingsbarns which is located six miles South East of St Andrews and just North of Crail in the East Neuk of Fife. Galanthus is a small genus of about 20 species of bulbous herbaceous plants in the family Amaryllidaceae, subfamily Amaryllidoideae. Most flower in winter, before the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. From the Latin name meaning ' milk flower, these tiny green and white flowers are amongst the first blossoms to emerge in the new year. In the mid 19th century soldiers in the Crimean War brought them back from the battlefields to plant in their gardens. Today they thrive throughout Scotland, in gardens, damp woods and on river banks. At locations throughout Scotland, you’ll find snowdrop after snowdrop, bringing brightness and magic to your day. The date for astronomical spring is Sunday 20th March 2022, ending on Tuesday 21st June, while by the meteorological calendar, spring will start on Tuesday 1st March.
