This where Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce were crowned. Also known as Boot Hill and the Stone of Scone. The place of coronation was formerly called Caislean Credi, Hill of Credulity. Robert the Bruce was crowned at Scone in 1306 and the last coronation was of King Charles II , when he accepted the Scottish crown in 1651. The Coronation Stone was used for centuries in the coronation of the monarchs of Scotland and later the monarchs of England, Great Britain, and the United Kingdom. Officially, the Scottish winter runs from the 21st of December through to the 20th March.
