Tour Scotland 4K travel video of a cloudy Winter road trip drive, with Scottish music, on the M74 motorway on ancestry, genealogy, family history visit to Hamilton, a town in South Lanarkshire, in the central Lowlands of Scotland. It serves as the main administrative centre of the South Lanarkshire council area. It sits 12 miles south east of Glasgow, 35 miles south-west of Edinburgh and 74 miles north of Carlisle, England. The M74 forms the northern section of the motorway running between Glasgow and Gretna, and hence the English border. Officially, the Scottish winter runs from the 21st of December through to the 20th March. When driving in Scotland slow down and enjoy the trip. Hamilton is twinned with Châtellerault in France. This connection dates from the 16th century when the title Duc de Châtellerault was conferred on James Hamilton, 2nd Earl of Arran.
