Autumn Trees On Visit To The River Tummel And Loch Tummel Highland Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland Autumn travel video, with Scottish music, of trees by the River Tummel and Loch Tummel on visit near Pitlochry in Highland Perthshire. The area around the River Tummel and Loch Tummel is known as Strathtummel and is one of the most beautiful parts of Big Tree Country in Perthshire. Autumn leaf color is a phenomenon that affects the normally green leaves of many deciduous trees and shrubs by which they take on, during a few weeks in the autumn season, various shades of red, yellow, purple, black, orange, pink, magenta, blue and brown. The phenomenon is commonly called autumn colours or autumn foliage in British English and fall colors, fall foliage or simply foliage in American English. Strath Tummel is a valley which extends from Loch Tummel in North East Perth and Kinross to Ballinluig, where the River Tummel joins the River Tay. Upper Strath Tummel trends east and southeast as far as Loch Faskally, above Pitlochry, with Lower Strath Tummel extending further to the southeast to link with Strath Tay. The main settlements of Strath Tummel are Tummel Bridge, Moulin, Pitlochry and Ballinluig. All photographs are copyright of Sandy Stevenson, Tour Scotland, and may not be used without permission.
