Tour Scotland Autumn travel video of a road trip drive, with Scottish bagpipes and drums music, from Perth on visit to Murrayshall House Hotel near Scone by Perth, Perthshire. Originally built in 1664, Murrayshall House was initially owned by Sir Andrew Murray, son of First Lord Balvaird and brother of David Murray, the Second Lord of Balvaird and Fourth Viscount of Stormont, The direct descendants of this family, the Earls of Mansfield, own Scone Palace. The house was modernised in the 18th century and again in 1864. The property continued to change hands following various family tragedies until 1973 when it became a hotel. The surname Murray was first found in Moray, where the Clan founder, Freskin, received a grant of the lands of Strathbrock in 1100 AD. He was descended from the first Earl, and his grandson, William, married the heiress of the Bothwell Clan in Lanarkshire. His sons founded many other houses, including the Murrays of Tullibardine, who later became the Dukes of Atholl, and Chiefs of the Clan.
