Summer Road Trip Drive Through Auchterarder And Aberuthven To Visit Perth Perthshire Scotland

Tour Scotland travel video of a Summer drive, with Scottish music, South on the A823 road through Auchterarder and onwards on the A824 road through Aberuthven then on the A9 road on visit to Perth, Perthshire. The 1.5 mile long High Street of Auchterarder gave the town its popular name of " The Lang Toun " or Long Town. In 1328, Robert the Bruce gave the town to the Montifex family who later passed it on to the Drummonds as part of a dowry. Disaster struck in 1715, when the settlement was destroyed by the defeated Jacobite soldiers retreating from the Battle of Sheriffmuir. The A823 is a lengthy route which crosses Fife and the small counties of Kinross and Clackmannan, and ends in Perthshire. Aberuthven, Gaelic: Obar Ruadhainn, is a small village in Perth and Kinross. It lies approximately 2 1⁄2 miles North East of Auchterarder and 10 miles South West of Perth.
