Old Photograph Wester Moffat House Near Airdrie Scotland

Old photograph of Wester Moffat house near Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, Scotland. The present house was built in 1859 for William Towers Clark to a design by Charles Wilson, and added to in 1865 by David Thomson. Later it was the home of Gavin Black, born 1842, died 1889, coalmaster, and his wife Margaret Wotherspoon Brown, born 1845, died 1917. It was converted into a hospital between 1927 and 1929, and several wards were built as pavilions in the grounds. Of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
