Old photograph of Farm Workers at Easter Essendy Farm by Blairgowrie, Perthshire, Scotland. Blairgowrie had, following the demise of the local hand- oom business, had been root crop and fruit growing and in particular strawberries. However, by the early 1900s focus had, due to dominant competition, switched from strawberries to raspberries that were particularly suited to the local climate and soil conditions and Blairgowrie had become the centre of the raspberry industry.
