Tour Scotland Autumn travel of rain by the Stone of Destiny and the Mortuary Chapel on moot hill on ancestry visit to Scone Palace by Perth, Perthshire. Moot hill is where Kings of Scots, including Macbeth and Robert The Bruce were crowned. Also known as Boot Hill and the Stone of Scone. The place of coronation was formerly called Caislean Credi, Hill of Credulity. Robert the Bruce was crowned at Scone in 1306 and the last coronation was of King Charles II , when he accepted the Scottish crown in 1651. The Boot Hill, or Moot Hill, was said to have been created by pilgrims each carrying a boot full of soil to the site in a gesture of fealty to the king. The small Presbyterian chapel was restored in Gothic style around 1804. Now a Mortuary Chapel and Stormont Mausoleum it is said to be the aisle of the old parish church, which is believed to have been built about 1624.
