Old Photograph Tram Bridge of Don Scotland

Old photograph of a Tram in Bridge Of Don, a suburb in the north of Aberdeen, Scotland. Bridge of Don is split into four areas; Balgownie and Donmouth, Danestone, Denmore and Oldmachar. Traditionally Bridge of Don has been split up into: Bridge of Don, Danestone, Denmore and Middleton Park. These areas have smaller areas within them. Aberdeen Corporation Tramways was the most northerly municipal tramway in the United Kingdom. The city's best known service was route 1, from Bridge of Don to Bridge of Dee, the numbering of which is preserved by the current number 1 bus service serving the same areas. The city's last tram operated on 3 May 1958, being replaced by diesel buses.
