Old Photograph Dining Room Palace Hotel Aberdeen Scotland

Old photograph of the dining room in the Palace Hotel in Aberdeen, Scotland. Union Street’s Palace Hotel was built in 1874 and became one of Aberdeen’s most iconic buildings. The Palace was bought over by the Great North of Scotland Railway Company in 1891 and became one of the first hotels in the city to boast electric lighting. The upper storeys of the hotel were destroyed by fire on October 31, 1941. Six people lost their lives in the inferno. The building was demolished in 1950 and a C&A was built on the site now a Travelodge.
