Old Photograph Of Kirkton of Mortlach Dufftown Scotland

Old photograph of Kirkton of Mortlach in Dufftown, in the heart of Speyside, Scotland. The old Kirkton of Mortlach, with the historic Mortlach Parish Church, is on the southern outskirts of the present town. The site of the church has long been associated with Christianity, going back perhaps as far as 566 when St Moluag is said to have founded a religious community there. There was a bishopric on the site in the eleventh and twelfth centuries, prior to it being moved to Aberdeen in the reign of King David I. History Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to travel and visit one day.
