Old Photograph Montford Isle Of Bute Scotland

Old photograph of Montford, Isle of Bute, Scotland. Montford is a linear settlement, mostly comprising substantial semi detached villas, located on the east coast of the Isle of Bute. The area developed around Montford House, built around 1850. These days Montford forms a purely residential extension of Rothesay, strung out along the A844 road between Craigmore and Ascog, a mile east of the town centre. The houses are not as large as those in Ascog a half a mile to the south.
