Old Photograph Auchtergaven Church And Cemetery Bankfoot Perthshire Scotland

Old photograph of Auchtergaven Church and Cemetery in Bankfoot, North of Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. The church was built in 1813 by John Stewart of Dunkeld, while the tower was built at the insistence, and expense, of the Duke of Atholl, at the start of the 20th century. The church sits on a mound or small hill, and overlooks the village of Bankfoot. The cemetery of the church slopes away from the church. The church was in regular ecclesiastical use until very recently. It is sad to report that a devastating fire ripped through the church on 26 February 2004, destroying it.
