Old photograph of the Tillietudlem Hotel in Crossford, South Lanarkshire, Scotland. During its heyday, the hotel was owned and run by Rangers Football Club legend and ex captain George Young. George Lewis Young, was born on 27 October 1922, and died on 10 January 1997, He was a Scottish footballer, best remembered for his association with Rangers and for being the first player to receive more than 50 caps for the Scotland national team. Crossford lies on the A72 road, alongside the River Clyde 4.5 miles north west of Lanark and 9 miles south east of Hamilton, South Lanarkshire. It is home to two pubs and a village shop. The nearest primary school is situated just out of Crossford whilst the nearest secondary is in Carluke, though pupils from the village attend Lanark Grammar.
