Old Photograph Lawn Bowling Green Garrowhill Glasgow Scotland

Old photograph of bowlers on the lawn bowling green in Garrowhill, Glasgow, Scotland. Garrowhill, Scottish Gaelic: An Cnoc Garbh, is a residential area within the wider Baillieston suburb of Glasgow. Garrowhill was developed as a residential area in the mid 1930s, built as a housing development neighbouring the then village of Baillieston. Garrowhill is well connected with the city centre by local buses and trains. Garrowhill railway station is on the North Clyde Line, one stop after Shettleston and one stop before Easterhouse, with frequent trains through Glasgow Queen Street. The journey from Garrowhill to Glasgow Queen Street takes approximately 12 minutes. Trains also run from Garrowhill in the opposite direction, through Coatbridge and Airdrie, to Edinburgh Waverley railway station.
