Old photograph of the Golf Hotel and tennis courts in Nairn, Moray, Scotland. An ancient fishing port and market town around 16 miles east of Inverness. It was the county town of the wider county of Nairn also known as Nairnshire. There is record of golf being played in Nairn in 1797 and Nairn Golf Club itself was founded in September 1887. Over the years Field Marshal Haig, the Duke of Windsor when Prince of Wales, two prime ministers, Ramsay Macdonald and Harold MacMillan, have been associated with the golf club.
