Old Photograph Campsie High Church Lennoxtown Scotland
Old photograph of Campsie High Church, a now ruined church, in Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. The neo gothic building is located in the city center off the main road. The decision to build a new church in Lennoxtown was taken at the beginning of the 1820s. It was built by Glasgow born architect David Hamilton, born 1768, died, 1843. The Campsie High Church was finally completed in 1828. The building offered 1,000 seats. Around 1983 a fire devastated the building.
