Tour Scotland Travel Video Winter Drive Through Dundee To Cemetery In Birkhil
Tour Scotland Winter travel video Blog of a Winter road trip drive through the city of Dundee on ancestry visit to the cemetery in Birhill, Scotland. Birkhill is a small village in Angus, just to the west of Dundee. Birkhill Cemetery was designed and built in the early 1980’s by Dundee City Council. Enclosed by old drystone walls, the larger field was a tree nursery within the former Camperdown Estate. The nursery was under the charge of the Earl of Camperdown’s head arborist, David Taylor, who discovered the Camperdown Elm. The land was bought by Dundee City Council in 1946, and the field outside the current cemetery grounds had been used for agriculture until 2008.
