Tour Scotland travel video of Autumn reflections on the River Tay by Queen’s Bridge on visit to Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Traffic conditions were improved with the opening in 1960 of Queen’s Bridge, the first long span pre-stressed concrete structure in Scotland, which cost £150 000. Its 78 feet, 157 feet and 11 feet spans were adopted to suit the four span Victoria Bridge it replaced on the same line, which was jacked up to clear the new work by 20 inches. and to support the formwork for the new bridge. The consulting engineers were F. A. Macdonald and Partners and the contractor, Whatlings Ltd.
