Tour Scotland Travel Video Autumn Road Trip Drive B846 To Tummel Bridge Highland Perthshire
Tour Scotland travel video of an Autumn road trip drive on the B846 road on ancestry visit to Tummel Bridge, Highland Perthshire, Scotland. Heading heading North the road follows the route, either exactly or alongside, of General Wade's Military Road as it climbs through Glen Goulandie. Just before the summit, an unclassified road turns off to the left, creating a shortcut to Kinloch Rannoch. After the summit here, the road drops once more, quite sharply in places, as we descend to Tummel Bridge with stunning scenery on the way. The approach to the bridge is westwards alongside the River at the head of Loch Tummel, and then past the Power Station that generates electricity from the water of Loch Rannoch and Dunalastair Water further west. This bridge was also built by General Wade, with the village growing up around it. The B846 is one of the longer, and most variable, B-roads in Scotland. It starts in the Perthshire town of Aberfeldy, on the banks of the River Tay, and ends in the midst of the wilderness that is Rannoch Moor.
