Tour Scotland Travel Video Early Autumn Drive On Narrow Scottish Road To Kinkell Bridge Perthshire

Tour Scotland travel video of an early Autumn road trip drive North on the narrow B8062 Scottish road to Kinkell Bridge in Strathearn on ancestry visit to Perthshire, Scotland. The village of Kinkell Bridge lies on the River Earn two miles north of Auchterarder. The grand four arched bridge over the River Earn was built in 1793 and alongside is a former toll house. A United Presbyterian church built in 1782 survives, as do the nearby ruins of the former parish church of Kinkell which dates from the 16th century. Dedicated to St Bean, the ancient parish church was abandoned when the parishes of Kinkell and Trinity Gask were united. The entire route of the B8062 was unclassified in 1922. The B8062 was classified later in the 1920s but only on the western section between Crieff and Auchterarder. The eastern section, from Milton to Dunning, had become the B9098. In 1934 the B8062 was extended east via a multiplex along the then-A9 and the entire length of the B9098, meaning the latter road ceased to exist.
