Not far from here on 13 February 1692, MacIain, Chief of the MacDonalds of Glencoe and 37 of his clansmen were murdered by a militia of the Earl of Argyll's regiment in the infamous Massacre of Glencoe. Cruel is the snow that sweeps Glencoe and covers the grave o' Donald.
