Tour Scotland video of a December morning drive from Pittenweem on ancestry visit to Anstruther, East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Originally founded as a fishing village, Anstruther is home to the Scottish Fisheries Museum. Its main industry is now tourism. David Martin, born 1st of April 1737, died 30 December 1797, was a British painter and engraver. Born in Anstruther, he studied in London and Italy, before gaining a reputation as a portrait painter. Martin painted over 300 portraits in his lifetime. One of the earliest independent ones is the 1767 one of Benjamin Franklin, now in the White House, Washington, DC, America.
