Tour Scotland Photograph Painting By Charles Andrew Sellar


Tour Scotland photograph of a Fisher Girl painting by Charles Andrew Sellar who was born on 9 November 1855 in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland. Charles was the son of James Annand Sellar, an Episcopalian Clergyman, and his wife Margaret Ann Tyrell. He graduated with a Master of Arts degree from Edinburgh University and was originally destined to follow a legal career. He had his studio at 58 Tay Street Perth from about 1901, sharing it with Thomas Wyman Brown from 1911 to 1926. He was elected a member of the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour. He died in on 15 April 1926.
