Elgol is a village on the shores of Loch Scavaig towards the end of the Strathaird peninsula. Glen Sligachan runs for eight miles to the South to meet the sea at Camasunary near Elgol, and divides the rounded Red Cuillin mountains from the jagged Black Cuillin mountains.
