Old photograph of Rodger's shipyard in Port Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland. Anderson Rodger son of James Rodger was born in Port Glasgow. By 1861 he was working as a ships joiner and by 1871 he was living in 2 Clarks Close, Port Glasgow and his occupation was listed as Fish Merchant. By the 1881 he was married and living in Bay Street with his family and he is noted as a Master Shipbuilder. For many years associated with Mr Joseph Russell and Mr W.T. Lithgow in the world famous shipbuilding concerns of Messrs Russell and Company, Port Glasgow. Mr Rodger was to take over the dry dock and the Bay yard in Port Glasgow.
