Old photograph of Stobo in Tweeddale, located 5 miles West of Peebles in the Borders of Scotland. The area is deeply rooted in early Christian history and Arthurian legend, specifically the life of Saint Mungo and the mythical figure Merlin. According to tradition, the church here was founded around 500 to 600 AD by Saint Mungo, the patron saint of Glasgow. A famous legend claims that Saint Mungo converted Merlin, the " wild man of the woods " to Christianity at a nearby altarstone.
