Old photograph of Chesters House by the River Teviot near Ancrum located four miles North of Jedburgh, Scottish Borders, Scotland. Two local landmarks which are visible from certain areas around the village of Ancrum are the Waterloo Monument and the Timpendean Tower. The original name of the village was Ancram, as in Earl of Ancram, Marquess of Lothian and Baron Teviot. The area just north of the village was the site of the Battle of Ancrum Moor in 1545.
