Old Photograph Market Square Jedburgh Scotland

Old photograph of a car, people and shops in Market Square in Jedburgh, Borders, Scotland. King William the Lion first granted Jedburgh the right to hold a market in the 12th century. It historically hosted weekly markets on Mondays and Fridays, though these were shifted to Tuesdays and Fridays in 1639 to avoid Sunday travel.
