Old photograph of Somerled Square in Portree, Isle Of Skye, Scotland. Somerled Square in Portree is named for the 12th century warrior chief Somerled, whose descendant Donald founded the MacDonald clan. The square has served as Portree's main civic space and was the site of a courthouse built in the neoclassical style in 1877, though the jail has since been demolished.
