Old photographs of the paddle steamer Jeanie Deans at the pier in Rothesay, Isle of Bute, Scotland. Jeanie Deans was a Clyde paddle steamer, built in 1931 for the London and North Eastern Railway. She was a popular boat, providing summer cruises from Craigendoran until 1964. During the Victorian era, Rothesay developed as a popular tourist destination. It became hugely popular with visitors from Paisley and Glasgow. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
