Old Photograph Ethie Haven Scotland

Old photograph of cottages and houses in Ethie Haven on ancestry visit to Lunan Bay in Angus, Scotland. Once a thriving fishing village occupied by line fishers and salmon netters, Ethie Haven is now an idyllic retreat with renovated holiday cottages. To the south stands Ethie Castle, a Carnegie stronghold from the mid 16th Century, eventually inherited in 1596 by Sir John Carnegie who was created Lord Lour in 1639 and Earl of Ethie in 1647, titles which he later exchanged for those of Baron Rosehill and Inglismaldie and Earl of Northesk.
