Old photograph of Dunbar Hospital in Inverness, Scotland. This Scottish hospital was built in 1668 and was given to the Burgh by Provost Alexander Dunbar. It was used first as a hospital and then as a school. At various times it has housed the fire engines, the Female School and the Female Work Society. During the cholera epidemic in 1849 it was again used as a hospital. Blog post of interest to folks with ancestry, genealogy or Scottish Family Roots in Scotland who may wish to visit one day.
