Old Photograph Raploch Scotland

Old photograph of Raploch in Stirling, Scotland. The first cottages and houses were built here near Stirling Castle in the late 17th century, after the land had been sold by the Earl of Mar to the patrons of Cowane's Hospital in Stirling. Economic conditions led to stagnation but housing began again in earnest at the start of the 19th century. Stirling is linked to Scotland's motorway and trunk road network including the M9 and A9 to Edinburgh, Perth, Perthshire and Inverness in the Highlands and the M80 to Glasgow.
