Tour Scotland Video Druids Park Standing Stone Circle Murthly Perthshire

Tour Scotland video of Druids Park Standing Stone Circle on ancestry visit to Murthly, Perthshire, Scotland. Prior to the laying out of the asylum at Murthly between 1863 and 1864, this stone circle stood out prominently in an open field but it is now surrounded by trees and plants. It is probable that the circle originally comprised 8 stones, of which 5 remain ranging from three to eight feet in height. In 1863 some cinerary urns were found within a few yards of the circle, some in groups of 2 and 3 and one series arranged in a circle. One example however, was buried alone, and contained partly burnt human bones, possibly of a child, together with a perforated bone object, probably a button or play thing.
