Old Photograph Belhaven Scotland

Old photograph of a horse and carriage, people and houses in Belhaven, Dunbar, Scotland. Belhaven means " mouth of the river " in Scottish Gaelic. First mentioned in the 12th century, Belhaven served as Dunbar's main port until new facilities were built closer to Dunbar in the 16th century. The area's reliable water supply, thanks to the now-drained Belhaven Loch, facilitated the growth of local industries.
